If you are having trouble connecting to or casting with your Chromecast, follow the steps below to resolve the most common issues.
Step 1: Check Your Internet Connection
- Verify that your Chromecast and mobile device are connected to the same WiFi network. If you have a dual-band router with both a 2.4G and 5G signal, make sure both devices are on the same band.
- Make sure your Chromecast is within 15 to 20 feet (4 to 6 meters) of the device you are casting from.

Check the color of the LED light on your Chromecast:
- Your Chromecast should be powered on with a white flashing LED light.
- The LED light color should change when the device is power cycled.

Step 2: Basic Troubleshooting
- Restart your Chromecast by unplugging it from its power source, waiting one minute, and plugging it back in.
- Restart your mobile device.
- Verify that the Angel app is updated to the latest version.
- Open the Angel app and try to connect to your Chromecast again.
Step 3: Chromecast Not Appearing on the Discovery Screen?
If your Chromecast is still not showing up, one of the following may be the cause:
Local Network Access (iOS 14 or Higher)
If you are using an iPhone or iPad running iOS 14 or higher, you may need to grant the Angel app permission to access your local network. Follow these steps:
- Open Settings on your iPhone or iPad.
- Scroll down and tap on the Angel app.
- Tap the "Local Network" toggle until the slider turns green.
VPN Interference
If your mobile device is connected to a VPN, it may prevent your Chromecast from being visible to the Angel app. Some VPN applications route all traffic through the VPN, which blocks the connection between your phone and your Chromecast.
- Check whether your mobile device is connected to a VPN.
- Disable the VPN and try casting again.
