Most Samsung TV and LG TV issues can be resolved by simply restarting the device. If a restart does not help, a software update may be needed. Follow the steps below.

Restarting Your Samsung TV or LG TV

Option 1: Using the Remote

1. While the TV is on, press and hold the Power button on your remote for about 5 seconds.
2. The TV will turn off.
3. After a few moments, the Samsung or LG logo will appear and the TV will turn back on.

Option 2: Unplug the Device

1. Unplug your Samsung TV or LG TV from the power source.
2. Wait 30 seconds.
3. Plug the device back in.

Updating Your Samsung TV or LG TV

Samsung and LG software updates usually happen automatically in the background, but you can also check for updates manually.

1. Using your remote, navigate to and select Settings.
2. Select "All Settings."
3. Select "Support."
4. Select "Software Update" then "Update Now."
5. If an update is available, it will begin downloading and installing automatically. Do not turn off your TV until the update is complete.
6. Once the update is finished, your TV will restart automatically. If no updates are available, select "OK" to exit.
