What's it about?

As World War II rages, a teenage boy in Germany is forced to confront a terrible truth—loyalty to his country now means loyalty to a lie. When his trusted bishop urges obedience to the Nazi regime, he begins to question everything. And after his Jewish friend is taken away, he secretly listens to banned radio broadcasts and launches a resistance, exposing the truth. But in a nation ruled by fear, defiance comes at a cost—and as the regime closes in, he must decide what it truly means to be a good German.

Truth & Treason will be released exclusively in theaters in the US and Canada on October 17, 2025.

What is it rated?

Truth & Treason has been assigned an MPA rating of PG-13 for strong violent content, bloody images, thematic elements, and smoking.  

While the MPA has officially rated the movie PG-13, here at Angel we know that rating doesn’t always give parents the full picture. The Angel Guild—a community of thousands of parents, viewers, and supporters who screen and vote on Angel projects—has recommended the movie for Ages 13+ for depictions of torture and violence, 1 bl*ody, and other mildly crude language.

Is this based on a true story?

Yes! Truth & Treason is based on the incredible true story of Helmuth Hübener, a heroic 16-year-old in Nazi Germany who fearlessly formed a resistance group with his friends after witnessing the arrest of his Jewish friend.
