If you're watching certain titles on a web browser, you may notice playback is limited to 720p instead of higher resolutions. This is expected. Here's why.
Why this happens
Some titles on Angel are protected by DRM (Digital Rights Management). DRM protects the rights of filmmakers and studios by controlling how their content is accessed.
For higher-resolution playback (1080p or 4K), DRM-protected titles require hardware-backed security on your device. Most web browsers use software-based protection only, so playback is capped at 720p on the web.
How to watch in higher resolution
To stream DRM-protected titles in full HD or higher, use one of our supported apps:
- Mobile: iPhone/iPad, Android phones, Amazon Fire tablets
- TV & streaming devices: Apple TV, Roku, Fire TV, Android TV, Chromecast, Samsung, LG, and Vizio smart TVs
- Gaming consoles: Xbox
Note: Non-DRM titles aren't affected and will play at the highest available resolution on your browser.
