Is the Angel App not working on your Xumo Stream Box or XumoTV? Here are a few steps you can take to fix it.
Restart Your Device
Restarting your device is the first step to resolving most issues. You have a few options:
Settings menu:
- Press the Home button or Gear icon on your remote.
- Go to Settings → System Management → Resets & Updates → Restart.
Voice remote shortcut:
- Press the microphone button and say "Restart".
Unplug and replug:
- Xumo Stream Box: Unplug the power cord, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
- XumoTV: Unplug the television from the wall socket, wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in.
Operating System Updates
The Xumo Stream Box updates automatically — there is no manual update option. To force a pending update to install right away, unplug the power cord for 60 seconds and plug it back in.
XumoTV only: If an automatic update has failed, you can update manually using a USB drive. Visit the Xumo USB Update Portal to download the firmware files, then:
- Download the firmware files to your computer from the Xumo USB Update Portal.
- Insert the USB drive into your XumoTV's service port.
- Navigate to Settings → Device Settings → Updates → Update Manually → Start USB Update.
Angel App Updates
The Angel app updates automatically on Xumo Stream Box and XumoTV. There is no manual update needed — your device pulls the latest version of the app directly from Xumo's servers each time you open it.
Clear the App Cache
Since you cannot delete and reinstall apps on Xumo devices, clearing the cache is the best way to reset the Angel app if it's behaving unexpectedly. This will sign you out and clear any temporary data.
Xumo Stream Box:
- Go to Settings → System Management → Resets & Updates → Locally Stored Data.
- Select Yes, clear now. The Angel app will reset to a fresh state.
XumoTV:
- Go to Settings → System Management → Resets & Updates → Locally Stored Data.
- Select Yes, clear now. The Angel app will reset to a fresh state.
Note: Clearing locally stored data will sign you out of all apps. You will need to sign back in to Angel with your email and password.
