Restarting your Roku resolves most common issues quickly. If a restart does not help, a software update may be needed. Follow the steps below for your device!
How to restart your Roku:
- Roku player: Go to Settings, then System, then System Restart.
- 1. Go to Settings > System > Power > System Restart
Prefer a manual restart? Unplug your Roku from the power source, wait 5-10 seconds, and plug it back in.

Press the Home button on your Roku remote
Go to Settings > System > System Update
Select Check Now to check for available updates
If an update is available, Roku downloads and installs it automatically
Allow the process to complete without interruption — your Roku reboots when finished
